FEW vehicle designs have remained unsurpassed thirty years after they were conceived or twenty after they were put into production. But this is true in many respects of the Engin Blinde de Reconnaissance, or
E.B.R., the eight-wheeled Panhard armoured car of the French Army. This remarkable vehicle is not,
however, so surprising when seen against the background to its development. It came, in fact, from a company which had been associated with several advances in automobile engineering as well as military vehicles and which successfully continues to produce armoured cars.
