Squadron Signal [Combat Troops In Action] 3005 Panzergrenadiers
After Ihe end ol World War I. the Allied belligerent powers scrapped much of their military equipment, discharged large numbers of troops and slashed military budgets. The 'war to end all wars' was over, and many officials and military leaders saw little sense in spending large sums of money in developing new technology or tactics. In Germany, however, the frustrations of losing the war. and being governed by the often unfair provisions of the Versailles treaty, created a more favorable climate for new military ideas. While Ihe far-sighted innovators in the United States, England and France were generally unable to get their ideas adopted - or even seriously considered - Ihe situation was different for the planners in the German military.
A pictorial study of the German soldier during World War Two, illustrated throughout with b/w photographs. Uniform illustrations by Ron Volstad.
