Tells the story of the amphibian tracked vehicle as it makes its way out of the swamps of Florida to the islands of the Pacific. There, at the beginning of World War II, the amphibian tractor was first featured in minor logistic roles at Guadalcanal & gained in importance as the Allies made their way up the New Guinea coast & the Solomon Islands chain. At the end of 1943, it appeared at Tarawa in the Central Pacific in a new tactical role which established the amphibian tractor as an indispensable complement to the amphibious assault operation.
