For the purposes of the present report it is sufficient to say that the major risk due to the formation of ice upon the airplane arises when the aircraft is operated through an atmosphere of mist, fog, or cloud, the temperature of which may range from 0°C to at least -20°C and when the relative humidity is high, usually 90% or above.
